"The challenge of treating such a wide diversity of problems
and having an influence on so many people brought me into medicine. Using
today’s ever increasing technology in that resolve has made the practice
of medicine and specifically the surgical aspects of ear, nose and throat
fascinating to me."
Dr. Crawley is a native of East Tennessee, having grown up in Knoxville. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he was active with Sigma Chi Fraternity. He then went on to earn his medical degree from UT in Memphis. He spent a short time in family practice in a small community in Arkansas, and then completed his internship at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, and his residency in otolaryngology in Memphis as well.
A longing to return to his roots, Dr. Crawley returned to Knoxville, and has been in practice now for 27 years. He has developed a particular interest in sinus disease and surgery for chronic ear disease.
He has served as vice chief of the department of surgery and is presently on the Board of Directors of St. Mary’s Ambulatory Surgery Center. In addition, he was former secretary-treasurer of the Tennessee Academy of Otolaryngology.
He and his wife have two now grown children, Kelly and Rob, and a daughter-in-law, Ashley, and grand daughter Emory. In his leisure time, he enjoys the outdoor activities of nature photography, hiking, fly fishing, and snow skiing.
